Sam Bautista Blog Post

In the final chapter of To kill a Mockingbird, Scout first started talking about Boo radley. She was talking about how he was uncomfortable at her house at he did not know what to do, she then said that it was incredible that she have never seen him before, and there he was sitting next to her. She then asked him if she would like to say goodnight to jem, she then led him towards jem’s room, and scout told him that he could pet jems head if he wanted, he did then he squeezed scouts hand saying he wanted to go. While she was walking him he told her in a whisper if she could walk him home, she did but she did it in a way that it looked like Arthur was being a gentleman , and walking her home, after she dropped him off at his home she never saw him again. Scout then started saying all the things that have happened in the book lead to this moment, she then looked at the neighborhood, in Arthur’s perspective and she started naming the people that live in those houses. She went back home, and saw that atticus is reading a book next to jem, and she asked if she could join, and he said yes, she fell asleep short after, and when she was nudged by atticus to go to her own room she started saying what was going on in the book, and the final sentence was from Atticus saying that everyone is kind once you meet them.

My thoughts on this chapter was that it was written really well, I liked the part at the end when she was talking about the book that Atticus was reading, and how similar the story was to Boo Radley. I also liked the part when she saw her neighborhood in a new perspective, Boo’s perspective. The Final line in the book from Atticus were really well written, and how good it matches with Boo Radley. How at the end when scout finally met him, and it turned out that no rumor was true about him, and how he is just a nice person. One thing I don’t like about this chapter is that it doesn’t say what happened afterwards with the problem with Bob, what about his children are they going to be okay?

Last Week Of TKAM

This week we Finished the book To "Kill A Mockingbird" I’m sad that I will not be able to read more about the adventures of Scout and the rest of the people in Maycomb. On the other hand I’m excited to see the movie and move on to another book. I think that this book had many great characters that added to the story in many different ways. Overall I think that my favorite that my favorite charter was Jem. He was very relatable because of his age and the things that he had to go through during the book. Many main scenes of Jem are about him trying to impress someone, be a role model, and act like someone that he is not.
One of my favorite moments was when Jem went to go the Radley’s house because he left his pants. This just shows how much Jem cares about his father and wouldn’t want to let him down. Another one of my favorite moments is when Jem stayed with his father after he told him to take Dill, and Scout home. Once again another example of true courage. I can relate to him trying to fit in with people and trying to make them proud.
During the book I also like that there were many scenes where Jem was shown crying. Guys in book and movies are usually depicted like they should not cry and if they do they are weak. I don’t think that this is true. Holding in all of your emotions will just make the situation worse. In one of the first chapters Scout says that Jem would cry about the death of their mother. This reminded me of how Darry from the outsiders didn’t cry at his parents funeral. He was ]probably trying to show his brothers how strong he is but they just thought he was emotionless while Scout feels bad for Jem and wants to comfort him.

TKAM Chapter 31

We finally see Boo at the end of TKAM. Scout thought at first that Boo was a countryman, but then she saw it was Boo. He has very pale skin, white clammy hands, he is very thin, gray eyes, and he has whitish, thin hair. Boo saved Scout and Jem when Bob was trying to kill them. Boo is Scout's and Jem's hero. Boo was watching them the whole time, since chapter 1 and some of the events that show this are gifts in the knot hole, covering Scout with a blanket, Sewed Jem's pants, he opened the shutters, he was laughing at Scout when she ran up with a tire, he was the shadow when Scout, Jem, and Dill peeked in the window, he wanted to say hi, but he got scared, and he saved Scout's and Jem's lives. All he wanted to do was to make a friend, so that is why he watched Scout and Jem. Boo killed Bob out of self-defense to save Scout and Jem. Boo may have a mental disability and he may enjoy the company of children. Nobody has gotten the time to understand Boo because it is the 1930s. When the Finch family, Heck Tate, and Boo were on the porch, Boo asked Scout to walk him home. Boo's voice sounds like a scared child. They walked to Boo's house and when Boo walked into his house, Scout never saw Boo again.
I liked the book because this book has teached me a lot of moral lessons and one of them is doing the right thing. I will try doing the right thing even when it is hard. I knew if I do this, this will make me better as a person. This book is one of my favorite books because it has taught me many things that I can use in the future. I will try to use these things that I have learned from the book and use them because I want to be a better person in the future. I like how there was foreshadowing of what was going to happen in the book. I thought that this was also a fun book because there was some funny events that happened and there were some funny lines in the book. I can take many things from this book and I am going to miss this book.

I'm Going to Miss You TKAM

In the last chapter in TKAM was when Boo Radley was there and Scout ask Boo if he wanted to say goodnight to Jem. Then Scout led Boo to Jem's room and Aunt Alexandra was there and she said that he can come in because Dr. Reynolds gave Jem a heavy sedative. Then Aunt Alexandra went to the living room because she wanted to talk with Atticus. Then Scout hold Boos hand and Boo let her, then Scout led him to Jem's room and then Scout told Boo that he can pet Jem because he was a sleep. Then Boo did pet him in the head and in that part I was very happy.

Then Boo ask Scout if he could take him home and then Scout said that he sounded like a child that was afraid of the dark. Then Scout led Boo to his house and when they got there they both walk to the steps and then Boo grab the doorknob and then went in  and shut the door behind him. Then Scout said that she never saw Boo Radley again. Then when Boo when inside the house, Scout put herself in his shoes and saw what happened through the whole book in Boo's perspective. Then Scout said that Atticus was right that you really never know someone if you step in his shoes. Then she went back home, and Scout was making his way home and then Scout went to Jem's room and Atticus was their and Jem was still sleeping and Scout wanted to stay with them and Atticus let her.

Then Scout ask Atticus on what he was reading and the book was called The Gray Ghost. Then Scout told Atticus if he could read the book to her and he did. Then when Atticus was reading, Scout fell asleep. Then when Scout woke up, Atticus was waking Scout to her room and Scout said he heard every word Atticus said. Then Scout told Atticus about the end of the story and Scout said that there was this Pearson name stoner boy and people assume bad things about them and at the end when they met him, he did not do all of those bad things., just like Boo.

In my opinion the book was good and I like how Boo went in Jem's room and put his hand over his hair and it showed how good of a person he really is and. That part also made me happy like I said before. The part when Boo told Scout if she could take him home made me sad just because in the way Scout described it. Then the last time we see Boo is when he went inside his house and it made me sad too because he was a good person and I just don't like how people assume bad things about him even though they never met him. In my opinion I like how Harper Lee put an example of another character in a different book with Boo.

The End of TKAM

We have finished the book "To Kill a Mockingbird", and it had a lot to say in the final chapter. In this last chapter, Boo had finally spoken for the first ever in this book. He told Scout that if she could walk him home, but he had said it in a softer silent voice. We think that Boo has a mental disorder that makes him act like a child, and Boo is more comfortable to be with children like Scout, Boo just wants a friend to hang out with because he is lonely. All of the stereotypes of Boo are false, he is just a shy person with the mind of a three year old. People think that he is scary, and they make rumors about him, even though Boo is the one that is scared. Also when Boo said the one line in the book, it also tells us that he is scared of everyone, and the only thing that makes him comfortable, is to be friends or around children like Scout. When Atticus was with Jem in the room and Scout comes in, he reads to her the gray ghost, and the person in the book that people thought he was evil, turned out to be wrong, it is just like Boo Radley, so I notice the connection between them.

In my opinion about this book is that I really enjoyed it, with some reasons that why I like this book. First I like how in each chapter that we learn something new that could help us in our lives. For example that we should make stereotypes about people, even if we don't know how they are, we should not make stereotypes about them. Another lesson that I learned is that violence solves nothing, for this Atticus was outside the jail to protect Tom from anyone trying to hurt him or even kill him. Also Atticus had no weapon to protect himself with, he only had a newspaper, this shows us that Atticus has true courage and that we should have true courage in ourselves. The last thing I like about the book is that you should not brag about our God given talent. For example Atticus' God given talent is to be the best shooter with a gun in the whole town of Maycomb. He did not want to show off his God given talent because he had never practice it, and it was given to him by God. This is what I like about not to brag about your God given talent because you did not earn it, and it was given to you. Overall I really liked this book and how it gives us lessons on how we should live a good life, and we can take those lessons and try to make them happen.

After three months of reading and working on this unit, yesterday we finished To Kill a Mockingbird. I personally loved the book, it was full of life lessons to take away, and Atticus is a good role model for Scout and Jem on how to be a good person with character and integrity.
Image result for to kill a mockingbird memes  Yesterday, we finished the last chapter of the book, Chapter 31. Boo asks Scout, "Will you take me home?" He had sounded like a scared child. These are the only words he ever says in the book, and the first and last time he ever talks to Scout. This is ironic because the entire book, everyone was scared of Boo, but in reality, he's the one who's scared because of his mental disability and that he's socially awkward. Scout makes it look as if he's escorting her down the sidewalk and not vice versa, Boo goes inside his house, and Scout never sees him ever again. She thinks about everything he's done for her and Jem, and she becomes sad that they've never done anything for him in return. She then stands in front of his window so she can see Maycomb from Boo's point of view; she's taking Atticus's advice and standing in Boo's shoes. She recounts the events of the book and how it looked like from his viewpoint. She went home, and Atticus read The Gray Ghost to her. She falls asleep and then wakes up, sleepily claiming that she was awake the whole time and talking about one particular character, Stoner's boy, who in the book everyone had assumed that he caused trouble and was evil, but when they got to know him, he was real nice. Atticus answers her, "Most people are, Scout, when you finally see them." This is talking about Boo because a lot of people in Maycomb were ignorant and assumed things about him, but they never got to know him.
I thought it was pretty clever of Harper Lee to include The Gray Ghost as the comparison to Boo. Everything just comes back to the life lesson of being tolerant and how you need to walk in others' shoes and see the world from their point of view before you judge them. It'll make you a tolerant and better person and others are going to respect you for it. Overall in the book, there had been many morals, such as walking in others' shoes, don't "kill mockingbirds," always do the right thing even when it's hard, stick to your moral standards, violence solves nothing, have true courage, don't brag about our God-given talents, and when there's a problem, you're the one to solve it even if it's unpopular; you will earn respect for it. There's probably a whole bunch more, but these are ones that we listed in class today. Atticus is probably my favorite character in the book, and if there were more people like him around, the world would be a really great place. To Kill a Mockingbird is an amazing book, and it really shines a light on things such as loss of childhood innocence, what true courage looks like, how we should be tolerant and not ignorant, and what a high moral standard is and how to be a good person.

Our Hero Boo...

In chapter 28, Scout and Jem were walking home after the pageant. Speaking of the pageant I would be super embarrassed if I were in Scout's position. Imagine you dressed as a giant ham then running on stage when you were suppose to do that but you fall asleep. That would be very embarrassing especially that Mrs. Merriweather told a little girl that she ruined her pageant, that's just harsh. Anyways, when Scout and Jem were walking home they kept on stopping because they heard footsteps. When they were under the tree they heard the sound of thick cotton rubbing against each other, all of a sudden there was someone running towards them. That person attacked the children, they broke Jem's arm and tried to choke Scout but her holy ham costume saved her from it. Furthermore, a fourth person showed up and saved the children from the person that attacked them. The fourth person brings Jem home and Scout follows along. When Scout was describing what had happened she said that someone else was there. There was a pale, thin, gray eyed, thin haired man standing in a corner, at that moment Scout said "Hey, Boo."

Cries in Peter Parker

I personally find this scene fascinating, I think it's facienting because out of all the possibilities that they could have met they meet by Boo saving their lives. Boo watched Jem and Scout for years, he watched them grow up, play, meet Atticus at the corner, and them sneaking around his house. Because Boo has a mental disability he prefers the company of children rather than adults, this is why he wants to be friends with them but is too shy and socially awkward to do so. When Scout and Jem were attacked it was late at night and no one would hear what was going on. However, because Boo always looked out for them he went to rescue them from the outrageous Bob. Overall, Boo is the children's hero and he gave them a second chance in life by saving them from Bob. Do you agree? Do you disagree? What do you think?

Final TKAM Post

We have reached the end of To Kill a Mockingbird. In the final chapters of the book, we finally get to meet the one character who had been spoken about, but not seen for the entirety of the book. Boo Radley finally makes an appearance. It turns out that he was the one that saved Jem and Scout's life. Boo doesn't look like he gets much sun. He has pale skin, grey eyes, and not much hair. He's obviously a man in his 30s-40s. Boo has a lot of stereotypes demeaning him; hence the name, "Boo". None of the stereotypes are true however, because he's actually very kind and sheepish. He acts as a child, probably due to a mental disability. The only line he says throughout the book is the line, "Will you walk me home?" He says this to Scout. This tells the reader a lot about Boo. It tells the reader that Boo is scared of everyone and that he is very meek. It's a ironic since throughout the book, everyone was scared of Boo. Now we learn that Boo is afraid of everyone. At the end of the book, Harper Lee included a small bit that I found interesting. She added in the part of a book named The Gray Ghost about a boy named Stoner Boy. Everyone in the book thought Stoner Boy had ruined the clubhouse, but in the end, they found out that he didn't and he was a very nice boy. I found it neat since Harper Lee is relating Stoner Boy to Boo Radley since they both had assumptions made about them. I think that this was a good move from Harper Lee's side because it really ties everything together.

Image result for outstanding moveSince it's the end of To Kill a Mockingbird, I feel that I should say how I personally felt about the book. I've been waiting to read this book since the sixth grade, but I knew that we would in Mr. Boyle's class. I, personally, thought it was very entertaining. There were a lot of things to keep track of, and there's no wonder why it's one of the best books in literature. In the book, there are also a lot of messages to be learned. For example, put yourself in someone's shoes and see from their point of view. This will help me be tolerant. There's also the lesson of do whatever is right when it's hard. When Atticus had defended Tom Robinson, he had to do what was right, and actually try when the whole town and even his own family judged against it. He was still respected throughout Maycomb because he did something that nobody else would've done. I think that this book has a lot of life lessons and will get me through life. I'm very sad that our reading of this book had come to an end.

The End...

In class today we had finally finished To Kill a Mockingbird! As Mr. Boyle told us, "it's not always we finish a book." It was a "special" day in our language class. In my opinion the book was very good. The life skills and morals taught throughout the book will help me throughout my life for sure. The book was very interesting and made me think at times, creating blogs for the book have been very fun to make, because of how interesting the book has been! Atticus for sure is very informative and wise. He always does the right thing to do, which is very admirable, I wish I could be like Atticus. I know I can not be him, but I can try to follow his examples and to try to do the right thing all the time, even if it is hard. The ending was interesting, I always had a feeling since the beginning of the book, that Scout or Jem will eventually meet and talk to Boo, though I did not expect them to meet by Boo saving their lives. I did suspect that the person who saved both Jem and Scout had been Boo, though what really surprised me the most throughout the book was when Boo had come out of no where when Scout and Jem's neighbor's house was on fire. He had placed a blanket over Scout and I was very surprised that he was there and had done what he did.
In the last chapter basically Scout had escorted Boo out and walked him to his house, because he had been brave enough and asked in a very nervous voice, if Scout could walk him home. It is very clear when Scout describes Boo, that he really never has been out of his house and outside, since his body frame was thin, his eyes were having a hard time to adjust to different type of light, his hair was gray, he basically seemed like a ghost. It was very noticeable that Boo has some sort of mental disability or something like Lennie. At the very end Scout had stayed by Atticus for awhile, Atticus had read a book to Scout, that had talked about a boy who had been said to have messed up a couple kids' clubhouse, but actually they were all lies, and the group of kids later got to know the boy, and they had found out he was actually very kind and nice. Just like the way that people treat Boo.

The Man In The Shadows

The last chapter has finally come and I have been waiting for this moment for a long time. We now know who the mysterious man was in the shadows hiding away for a long time. On a bad night when Jem and Scout were returning from the pageant, they got attacked by Bob. Jem tried to drag Scout to safety but his arms broke from a rough fight. Scout was being strangled until they met a man that saved them that night. Atticus thought that Jem killed Bob but he later found out that Boo Radley killed Bob. I think that it was very nice of Heck Tate to cover up for Boo because if he told everybody that Boo killed Bob, everybody in town will come and celebrate with him, but that's not what he wants. He prefers to be isolated away from the town because he likes it better that way. Scout told Boo (Arthur) Radley to come and pet Jems head and he did because he was asleep. Boo later on then told Scout that he wanted to go and from that day Scout has never seen him again. Scout then told Atticus if Boo was to be visited by people then it would be like killing a mocking bird.

I think that the last two chapters were really heartwarming because Boo just wanted a friend and he didn't want to harm anyone. It must have hurt him when people were mocking him saying he is a monster or something. Boo all this time just wanted a friend especially with Jem and Scout because they are children and they still have their childhood innocence. Boo left many signs showing that he just wanted a friend by leaving gifts in the knothole tree, flicking the shutters, laughing at Scout on the tire, etc. Boo would watch the children almost everyday because he was trying to protect them from any harm and he just enjoys watching them have fun. Boo wants to make friends with Jem and Scout because of a mental disability just like Lennie in "Of Mice And Men". Scout finally understood that Boo Radley was a Mockingbird.

End of TKAM

Today we finally finished chapter 31 and we also finished the book, "To Kill a Mockingbird." A lot of important things happened in chapter 31 but the main part of the chapter was Scout getting in Boo's shoes. In chapter 31, Scout is looking at Boo and telling the reader that he is a very quiet person and she then asks him if he wants to say goodbye to Jem before heading home. Boo accepts and goes and sees Jem. Scout is surprised because it seemed that it was the first time Boo saw a boy in his life. After seeing Jem he finally talks and tells Scout, "Will you take me home?" that was the first and last thing he said in the chapter and Scout describes it as a murmur of a scared kid. Of course Scout said yes and she took him home. Scout then views the town from where Boo sees it. She had never seen her town from that angle and she realized Boo had done so much for her and Jem and they had given him nothing in return. She then returns home and finds Atticus in Jem's room and she asks him to read the book The Gray Ghost to her. He accepts and before heading to sleep Scout tells Atticus that Stoner Boy was nice and Atticus replied that most people were nice.

In my opinion I really enjoyed the book as a whole, the morals and main points of the book are those that we can apply to our everyday life. I also liked the title a lot and how the author developed her book from the title. My favorite characters of the book are: Atticus, Scout, and Boo Radley. They were all mockingbirds in the book and they did what was right even thought it was hard. Boo Radley was still kind and caring towards Scout and Jem even though they would make fun of him and were scared of him. Scout didn't let the stereotypes and the people judging her put her down or make her change which in my opinion is courageous. Most people would of changed the way they dressed just so the people like them or simply because they do not want to be judged anyone by society. And Atticus defended a African American even though everyone in Maycomb was against it, even his family. I also liked that Scout got into Boo's for the first time, she understood that Boo was not a creepy man who wanted to kill anyone but he was actually like a little child(probably because he has some sort of mental disability) who wouldn't harm a fly. Overall this book was very fun and entertaining to read!

The last Blog Post!

At the end of the book Scout is allowing Arthur to come inside the room of Jem. Arthur was thinking of petting the hair of Jem but he doesn't because he does not want to walk him up, however Scout tells him it is going to be okay because he is asleep. Soon Scout persuaded him and he start to pet Jem. Then Scout starts to understand how he communicates because he was tugging Scout she knew he wanted to leave. When they got to the door Boo finally talks! He asks if Scout could take him home. By how Harper Lee explains we can tell that he has a voice of a scared kid that was afraid of the dark. But before they left scout puts her hand in the middle so that it could look like he is escorting her to her house. When Scout makes it to the pole she is starting to remember when dill use to hug the big fat pole. She stepped into the the gates of the Radley place for the second time. When Arthur found the doorknob he went inside and was never to be found again. When he closes the door she starts to look from the point of view of Boo. She looks at every place where they had a memory from the beginning of the book. And when his kids need him the most. She walks home and asks if Jem is awake he said no he was not. Scout decides to stay with Atticus,Scout wants Atticus to read The Gray Ghost out loud. He does however Scout starts to fall asleep. Scout is tooken back to her bed and explains the whole book to where there is a man called Stoner boy and how he is screwing up the clubhouse. Also how everyone thinks that he is a very evil man just like Boo. When they meet him more closely all the rumors they have heard where not true. Instead they have meet a nice man just like Boo. Scout says that that Stoner Boy is a nice man. Atticus says that most people are, when you finally see them.

376 Pages Later...

The day has come where my class and I have finished reading To Kill a Mockingbird. Towards the end of the book, it seems like we have basically grew up with Scout as we have gone through so many experiences with her from her first days of school, to the Tom Robinson trial, to her and Jem almost getting killed by Bob Ewell, and much more. No matter how many events we have gone through in the book, the event that really caught my attention the most was at the end of the book. Over three hundred pages later, and Boo Radley has finally spoke. It is amazing how much one person can bring out and show what society is like when it comes to ignorance. Boo really brought out the message of to not judge a book by its cover in To Kill a Mockingbird, and he is definitely one of my favorite characters the book. After going through and hearing all of the gossip, rumors, and stories about Boo and seeing Dill, Jem, and Scout being scared to death of him, it is crazy to see how different Boo actually is. It's like getting your hopes ups for something, but when the time actually comes, it's not as thrilling as how you expected it to be.
Since the beginning of the book until now, Boo was depicted as somebody who was scary, violent, and evil. However, at the end of the book when we finally meet Boo, he seems like the kindest, most caring, and introverted person ever. Someone who the whole town and especially Dill, Jem, and Scout were scared of, asked Scout, a child, to walk him home. After three hundred plus pages, Boo says, "Will you walk me home?" In the end, we find out the irony that everyone in the book was scared of him, but in the end, he is the one who's scared, is socially awkward, and has a mental disability. Just like Lennie, I feel sympathy for him. At the end of the book, Scout replays the book from Boo's point of view and uses Atticus's advice of stepping in someone else's shoes and walking around. I especially liked and thought it is was clever about how Harper Lee included The Gray Ghost at the end of the book and how Scout was really talking about Boo when she was talking about the Stoner's Boy. In the end, 376 pages later, one of the most important lessons we learn is that most people are nice when you finally see them. You just have to be tolerant and walk in others' shoes first. Because of this main message and the other important messages learned from this book, I think that To Kill a Mockingbird is beautiful in a way that the author delivers these messages through a marathon of emotional and shocking experiences.

Last TKAM Blog Post

Image result for end of tkam memesI notice that Boo (Arthur) Radley acts a lot like Lennie did in Of Mice and Men. He acts like him because they both have the mindset of a child. Boo is like this because he only interacts with Jem and Scout. We also see this when he asks Scout to walk him home but she makes it look like he is walking her so Ms.Stephanie doesn't gossip about it. In my opinion this was very nice for Scout to do and saved Boo (a "mocking bird") from being "killed." Another scene that protects Boo from being killed is that when Heck Tate insists that Bob fell on his knife even though Boo killed him. Boo wouldn't want all the attention. He is extremely introverted and this must be why he was going to get sent to a  mental institution before his father refused.

When Scout gets to Boo's house he goes inside and looks out the window so that she can see what Boo sees all the time when he is locked in the house not socializing with anyone. She gets perspective and puts herself in Boo's "skin" or shoes, as her father Atticus tells her to. The book end off with Atticus reading a book that is a lot like how Boo Radley is and its irontic. The book talk about how there is Stoner's boy and everyone thinks he's trashing the clubhouse but he's not. This is like Boo because everyone thinks he is a terrible person but he's not, he just has a mental illness, but people wouldnt understand that in their time.

Arthur Radley and THe Ending of TKAM

Recently, a lot has happened in TKAM. Scout and Jem were almost killed by Bob Ewell. Bob attempted to murder Jem and Scout because he was too cowardly to try to murder Atticus, so he went after easier targets who couldn't defend themselves. Bob had a swtchblade and could have killed Scout if she hadn't been wearing her ham costume from the pageant. While Mr. Ewell atacked the childrean, Jem broke his arm, and Scout finds out that there was a fourth person undar the tree who saved them. Once they reach the house, Scout finds out that the man who had saved them and carried Jem home was Arthur or Boo Radley. We find out that Heck Tate had switched out the knife that had killed Bob and put a kitchen knife there. Heck Tate knows that if he dosen't cover up the fact that it was Arthur who had save the children then he may as well have killed a mocking bird.

I think that it was very honorable for Heck to switch out the knives and to make up a lie about what happened to Bob. I am surprised that Atticus didn't put the pieces together that it was Arthur who killed Bob not Jem. It also surprised me that Atticus was not only willing to bring Jem to court, but that he wanted to bring him to court. Eventhough it surprised me, I think that it was a good reflection on how good of a father he is. He wanted to prove that Jem had killed Bob out of self-defence and that he had nothing to hide. I think that I might shed a couple tears tommorow at the end of the book. This has been one of my favorite books and I have loved everything about it.

Boo's Personal View

Image result for Boo radley memes
Boo is definity one of our many mockingbirds. People make up rumors about him, even though none of them are true. They never make the time to actually get to know him, and they ridicule him even though he did nothing wrong. Mr. Heck Tate has been trying to help him when he figured out that it was Boo that killed Bob Ewell. Mr. Tate wants to save Boo from all the publicity, because he is the only one in the county that would not want to be so public. Boo would be a mockingbird in this scene, because all he did was save two children and killed a man for it, and the whole town would think he is a hero and bring him angel food cake. A normal person would like the attention and all the food cake, but not Arthur, he doesn't want much attention in the town, all he likes to do is stay inside. Now we know that Arthur actually likes staying inside, because it keeps him from all the attention that he doesn't want.

Before now, we have never seen Boo, but we have been able to get glimpses of what he is like. He was there for everything. When Scout was in the tire, he was there laughing, when Jem touched the house, he was watching them, he left gifts for the children to find in the knothole of the tree, he helped Jem with his pants after they got caught in his fence, he was the shadow that they saw move past them in the window, he put a blanket over the kids the night of the fire, and he saved their lives when they needed him most. Thorout this entire book, Boo has been there the entire time in different ways. It may have been a small shutter flick or a laughter, but he was still there.

I think that Boo is one of my favorite characters, because he is the one that just comes in to save the day, but he doesn't want the attention of all the people. All he wants is to be left alone, and I find that so funny because that reminds me of a lot of people I know, they just don't want to be around people, and I find that really funny. However, now after realizing what Boo is dealing with I can understand why he doesn't want to come out. People have pre decided what he is like, and they have made up in their mind that he is some killer that spies on you. I think that Boo is very relatable in many different ways, but we need to understand that Boo doesn't want to be in the spot light, and if people find out he is a hero, then that could lead to more potential problems for him and for the people of Maycomb.

Boo Radley Blog Post

Scout and Jem are going threw the wood because they went to a pageant and Scout messed up really bad when she missed her part because she fell asleep. She came out at the last minute and she ruined the pageant, she was so embarrassed that she wanted everyone to leave first so she could go last and that way she wouldn't feel embarrassed. On the way home Jem hears something following him and Scout and at first they think it's Jacob a kid who scared them earlier. But no it wasn't him it was Bob Ewell and he meant to do business he tried to kill Scout and Jem.But he failed to because Scout still had her costume on and that saved her life, but Jem had a broken arm.Someone came and took Jem and Scout home were they later realised that Bob Ewell was found dead with a knife in his ribs.

Nathan Radley killed Bob Ewell in self-defense because he wanted to harm Jem and Scout. But everyone thinks Jem killed Bob and thats sounds kind of hard to believe because Jem had a broken arm.And there is no way he would of gotten up and tried tackling a large man and killing him with his own knife.Mr.Tate switch knife's to make it look like Bob killed himself on accident, but again that is hard to believe. We know that Mr.Tate is trying to get Boo Radley out of this and he is trying to convince Atticus that Jem didn't kill Bob,so he did. This is the first time Scout has seen Boo and he is not scared of him anymore.

My reaction of this chapter is insane because Boo Radley killed Bob Ewell and ended up saving Scout and Jem from him because he wanted to kill them.I find cool that Bob died because he's the reason why Tom died.He beat up his daughter and blamed it on Tom,I never expected that Boo Radley a guy who spends his time in his house would kill the most hated person in the book. For the first time after 400 pages we get to see Boo Radley!I never expected him to come  out because I always thought he was one of those characters who people talk of,but never do anything(Like never show up or be part of any event in the book). Are you also surprised  to see Boo Radley come out for the first time?I still don't get why Atticus thinks Jem killed Bob,I find it kind of dumb, but I still respect Atticus it's just that I find it silly.

Finally Meeting Boo

In the last couple of chapters of To Kill a Mockingbird, we finally meet Boo Radley. We find out that he is not the man most people in Maycomb thought he was. He is not a crazy serial killer, but instead, he is a man who saved two children's lives. He has been secretly watching Jem and Scout and keeping them safe, and when Jem and Scout needed him most, he helped them and saved their lives. Boo was definitely not the man that most people in Maycomb thought he was. Boo is an introvert, and because of that, he stays indoors a lot. I understand why he stays indoors. He has a mental disability, and he has the mind of a child, and he is very shy, and that is why he stays indoors so much. I understand Arthur, and I think that it is good that he stays in since he is already so shy and since people would assume things and wouldn't understand him since he has the mind of a child.

For me, Arthur Radley is a hero. He looked after kids who made fun of him and who were afraid of him, and even then, he still looked after them. If I were Arthur, I would forget about them knowing that they are afraid of me. Boo went out into the open to save Jem and Scout. He did something has never done in years, just to save Jem and Scout. To me, Arthur is a hero because he went out of his comfort zone to save Jem and Scout from being killed by Bob. Arthur is also a mockingbird, and for this reason, I feel bad for him. Arthur Radley gets rumors made about him and people assume bad things about him, just because he never leaves his house. Arthur is a very shy person, and I understand why he would want to stay inside, and it is sad that other people in Maycomb don't make the time to understand him  and actually get to know him. It is sad how he is put down by rumors for no reason other than staying inside for most of his live.

TKAM Differences Alike

To summarize the most important event happening so far Jem and Scout went to the pageant. Scout messed up big time in her role as she not only slept through her part, but ruined the most climactic scene in the pageant. On their way back Scout was so embarassed she wouldn't even take off her costume of metal wiring. They waited for everyone to leave and when there was barely anyone left they decided to go and started hearing footsteps. They kept stopping when they stopped and continued when they continued, they just thought that it was. Then finally they were rushed at and Bob Ewell easily twisted Jem's hand until it made a crackling noise he was hurt so bad he was left unconscious on the ground. However Scout in her costume was metal wire painted and he was physically crushing it open and would easily kill Scout and Jem if a 4th person under the tree had not killed Bob and saved them both.
When you are mad in an argument, but do not understand the topic.
Boo Radley saved their lives and Mr. Tate tried to indirectly protect Boo Radley from the publicity yet funnily enough Atticus does not realize this and thinks Jem killed him and is talking all about going to the court get it out in the open and Mr. Tate is trying to hint at what really happened without revealing it as it might make things uncomfortable for Arthur Radley.
Though what I really want to talk about which I found very interesting was the dynamic between Mr. Tate and Atticus. They both have mutual respect for each other and from the way Scout described them they both are extremely stubborn and while Atticus is more calm on his part he is still just as stubborn as Mr. Tate who is stubborn in a more blunt way. When they were arguing they both were sure of themselves and while I agree with Mr. Tate since Atticus did not fully proccess what he was implying it was interesting nonetheless. Though it would of really had a lot more cause for inspection and time if Boo Radley made a comment as he was on that porch though he might next chapter on what they were arguing about. Though now we seem to have a better understanding of their character and how they treat big differences. As one interesting point is in that argument Atticus was asking Mr. Tate to observe it from his shoes though it took him a while to realize what Heck Tate meant as he did not step into his shoes right away until he learned what he was implying. Though they are still good people and are very reasonable though their argument provided a nice tidbit of inspection into how Heck Tate in specific dealt with an argument.

An Unexpected Hero

Jem and Scout are out for a Halloween pageant, and Scout is a ham. After embarrassing Mrs. Merriweather onstage, they decide to go home. On their way home, they are suddenly attacked by a man who tries to break Jem's arm, and he tries to choke Scout to death. After they fight, a man comes from behind and stabs the man trying to kill the children. Scout's costume saves her, but Jem is severely hurt. Dr. Reynolds tells Atticus that Jem will live, and Mr. Heck Tate comes to investigate the scene. It was Mr. Bob Ewell, and he is dead. After a few conversation, and Scout's retelling, they find out their savior is Boo Radley, or Mr. Arthur Radley.

Arthur Radley is an interesting character. He prefers the company of children, similar to Mr. Dolphus Raymond's company of blacks. He acts like a child. In a way, he is like Lennie is "Of Mice and Men." He has a mental disability that makes him act like a child. For so many times over the course of the book, Boo Radley has helped the children. He sewed up Jem's pants, he put the blanket over Scout at the fire, and he put the presents in the knothole. Boo just wanted friends, and after he saved Scout and Jem, he finally got some.
