The End...

In class today we had finally finished To Kill a Mockingbird! As Mr. Boyle told us, "it's not always we finish a book." It was a "special" day in our language class. In my opinion the book was very good. The life skills and morals taught throughout the book will help me throughout my life for sure. The book was very interesting and made me think at times, creating blogs for the book have been very fun to make, because of how interesting the book has been! Atticus for sure is very informative and wise. He always does the right thing to do, which is very admirable, I wish I could be like Atticus. I know I can not be him, but I can try to follow his examples and to try to do the right thing all the time, even if it is hard. The ending was interesting, I always had a feeling since the beginning of the book, that Scout or Jem will eventually meet and talk to Boo, though I did not expect them to meet by Boo saving their lives. I did suspect that the person who saved both Jem and Scout had been Boo, though what really surprised me the most throughout the book was when Boo had come out of no where when Scout and Jem's neighbor's house was on fire. He had placed a blanket over Scout and I was very surprised that he was there and had done what he did.
In the last chapter basically Scout had escorted Boo out and walked him to his house, because he had been brave enough and asked in a very nervous voice, if Scout could walk him home. It is very clear when Scout describes Boo, that he really never has been out of his house and outside, since his body frame was thin, his eyes were having a hard time to adjust to different type of light, his hair was gray, he basically seemed like a ghost. It was very noticeable that Boo has some sort of mental disability or something like Lennie. At the very end Scout had stayed by Atticus for awhile, Atticus had read a book to Scout, that had talked about a boy who had been said to have messed up a couple kids' clubhouse, but actually they were all lies, and the group of kids later got to know the boy, and they had found out he was actually very kind and nice. Just like the way that people treat Boo.

  1. I also liked the book because it taught me a lot of morals that I can use in life. Atticus is a great example of who we should follow and act like him. I was also surprised when Boo came and saved Jem and Scout. He has been watching them since chapter 1 and has helped them out a lot. Good job on saying how you liked the book and how you summarized the last chapter.

  2. I agree with you, I thought that there was a lot of skills, morals, and lessons learned throughout the entire book. I too, wish to act a lot more like Atticus, because of how high his moral standards are, and it is very inspiring to me. I thought that Boo was a very underappreciated character, because he did so many different things throughout the book, and I didn't even realize that it was him doing all the small things. I am sad that the book is over, but I can't wait to see how it has affected all of us after reading and watching To Kill a Mockingbird.
