So first it was the first day of school for Jem and Scout and now Scout is in the second grade, also now Scout can walk with Jem because they both stay late now so they walk home together and Scout said that that is the only good thing about the second grade. Then when Scout and Jem were walking home Jem told Scout what happened that night when he went to go get his pants. That day Jem went to go get his pant, Jem said that they were all in a triangle and that he could not get them loose and when he went back they were all folded across the fence and he said that they knew that Jem was going to go for his pants and knew what he was thinking. Then after they went near the knot hole tree and this time there was a ball of grave twine and Scout was going to grave it, but Jem said no because it might be someone else, and Jem said it might be Walter Cunningham and that he hides his thing here during recess and right after they take it away.
Then three days passed and took it and they said from now on everything they found int the knot hole tree was there property. Then it was October and that day there was something in the Knot hole tree again and Jem let Scout pulled it out and it was two small images carved in soap, and one was a figure boy and the other one was wearing a crude dress. It look like Scout did not like it, so she threw the two figures into the ground. Then Jem told Scout that they are good and he never seen something that good before. Then Jem said that the figure was wearing bangs and Scout was wearing bangs and they said that its them and they taught it was someone and at first and they taught it was Mr. Avery, then they thought it was Miss Stephanie Crawford sweetheart.
Then they said that she never pays attention to them. Then they kept finding things like medals for spelling contest, a packet of chewing gum, and then they found a pocket watch that would not run and on a chain with an aluminum knife. Then Scout told Jem that they should tell Atticus about the tree, then Jem said no because Atticus would think bad about Jem, so he said no. Instead Jem and Scout wrote a note and placed it into the tree because they wanted to know who was putting stuff in the tree. Then the next day they went and check and the tree was filled with cement and Scout wanted to cry, but Jem told her not to.
Then after Jem told Mr. Radley that why he putted sinemet in the tree and he said that it was dying. Then shortly after he told Atticus about the tree and Atticus said that it was not dying and that it was wealthy. Then Jem told him that Mr. Radley said that the tree was dying and Atticus told Jem that probably it was dying. Then Jem was standing there until nightfall and when he walk inside the house, Jem was crying.
In my opinion It was nice that Jem and Scout walk together now. I also feel good for them because they found nice things in the Knot hole tree like a pocket watch and a medal. To be honest I wanted to know who was putting the items in the tree, but sadly Mr. Radley put cement in the tree and now its gone. At the end I felt bad for Jem because he was crying, but I really do not know why he was crying because he just walk in crying. I am now kind of suspicious of Mr. Radley because he put the sentiment in the tree, but it was not dying and it sounded perfectly find how Atticus explain it and probably he was putting those things in the Knot hole tree and was tired of it of someone taking his stuff.

TKAM Chapter 7
In chapter seven, Jem is in a gloomy state of mind, and he is quiet for about a whole week. Scout starts second grade, and says that it is worse than last year in her first grade, and they would still not read and write. All of the students from last year first grade, flunked and had to retake it again. After a whole week of not speaking, Jem tells scout what had happened the night when he went to go get his pants. Jem says that his pants were folded across the fence. Jem said that someone was going to expect him to be there and get the pants. In the knothole of the tree, there was a ball of gray twine, Jme wanted to take it, but Scout says that they should wait a couple of days to see if anyone would come back for it.
She says if no one comes for it, then Jem could take the gray ball of twine with him. When Jem and Scout were going to the knothole in October, they saw that something white was inside it, In the knothole, Scout says that there are two small images carved in soap. The mini figures in the soap are actually Jem and Scout, the picture of the boy looked at Jem, and when Jem looked at the girl-doll, he looked at Scout, and it looked like her. Less than two weeks later, Jem and Scout find a whole package of gum, which they ate. Jem says that they should write a letter to the person that are leaving them these things, Scout thinks it is a good idea. They have wrote a letter to the person, and put it in the knothole tree, the next morning Jem looked in the knothole tree, and told Scout that it was filled with cement. Jem tells Mr. Radley if he was the one to put cement in it, he said yes. Mr Radley did this because the tree was dying. Jem tells Atticus if the tree was dying, Atticus says no.
In my opinion I think that Jem should have not gone back to get his pants from the Radley fence, when they were trying to see Boo. I think that he should have told Atticus what they were doing, so he could not have the feel of guilt and disappointment. I think that if he had told Atticus what he had done, than he would have less the chance of being shot and killed. This is what I think Jem should have done instead of lying to Atticus that they were playing poker. If I was Jem, then I would tell Atticus the truth, and take any beating from him.

TKAM Post
In the beginning of chapter 7, Jem told Scout something about when he went back to go get his pants. When he lost his pants, it was caught in the fence and it was all messed up. He went to go get them, but his pants were folded neatly and put on the fence. This got them wondering, was someone there and expected him to come back? This was very interesting indeed. School starts and Scout is now in the second grade. The same group of kids was still held back. Scout also mentions Maycomb's seasons. It goes from summer to autumn. Sometimes winter doesn't follow Autumn. Then comes a short spring, and back to summer. Scout and Jem had went back to the knot hole. This time they had found something again. They found a ball of yarn. They didn't take it this time. They waited for three days, and then they had pocketed it. They continued to search the knot hole. They kept on getting things like gum, which they chewed down. Particular items would be a soap, with Jem and Scout carved in it. They had thought that the person was leaving these things for them. Then, an old pocket watch was in the knot hole. The pocket watch did not work anymore. Jem had his grandfather's pocket watch, which he gave back to Atticus, because he wanted to use the one in the knot hole. Jem and Scout decided to write a thank you note and leave it in the knot. When they came back to the knot, it was filled with cement. They asked Mr. Radley if he had filled it, and he was the one who did. He said the tree was dying, and when Jem asks Atticus this, Atticus says it isn't. This makes Jem and Scout suspicious.
This chapter was very interesting in my opinion. The first odd thing was Jem's pants. I did not expect that! I thought he would've saw someone, not have his pants folded. Second of all, the Alabama educational system isn't really that great if all the same kids are getting held back in the first grade, in my opinion. Maycomb has very different weather than Minnesota, we have summer, fall, and a winter with a spring! The final thing I want to think about is the things left in the knot hole. I don't know about you, but I think it's definitely Boo Radley being nice. I think he's trying to be nice, and the people he's seen has been Jem and Scout. I think Boo was the one who folded Jem's pants as well. I think that Boo's artistic skills are great because he has all that time alone. He was able to carve that bar of soap into Jem and Scout. I think that Nathan Radley was becoming aware of these social interactions and he filled up the hole so Boo wouldn't be able to leave things for Scout and Jem.

Goodbye Knothole...
Jem crying |
In Chapter seven, Jem is is still very freaked out with what happened that night when he went back for his pants at the Radley's property, when Jem and Scout were walking home from school he told Scout what had happened that night. He explained to her that when his pants got stuck on the fence he struggled to get them off and when he left they were in a tangle. When he went back for his pants they were folded neatly and were sewed crookedly by someone, like they knew he was going to come back for them. As they walked by the knot hole they saw a ball of twine inside, they left the ball there for a few days then they claimed everything inside the knothole their property. They had noticed something inside the knothole again, Scout pulled them out and it was two hand carved soap dolls that look like them. Then they received a whole pack of chewing gum and they forgot about it being poisoned, the third thing that they received was a metal Atticus explained to them that Maycomb used to hold spelling contest. Lastly, they had received a pocket watch that didn't run on a chain, with a aluminum knife. Jem and Scout decided to leave a letter in the knothole thanking the person that was giving them the gifts, when Jem and Scout finished the letter. The next morning when they finished eating their breakfast they ran towards the knothole, Sadly the knothole was filled with cement. Jem asked Nathan if he filled it, he did. Nathan gave a pretty bad reason why he did it, he said it was "Dying." Jem leaned on the pillar on his porch until nightfall, Scout noticed that he had been crying since she could see streaks of wear the tears fell.

First Week of School
In chapter seven we find out three main things. The first thing being that Scout has started second grade. Scout still seems to be ahead of the class and is bored at school. Jem and scout now get out of school at the same time. One day when scout and Jem were walking home Jem tells scout about the night he got his pants back at the Radley house. Scout is surprised about this because Jem was very upset about what happened. This was a very emotional night and I can see why he wouldn’t want to talk about what happened.
Bringing up something edmotional that just recently happened can make you go through the same emotions again. I do think that talking about emotional things at some point in your life is good. Holding in all of your emotions will make the situation worse than it already is. Jem then goes on to say that the day he went back for his pants they were folded up on the fence and someone sewed up the pants as well. Jem also points out that who ever sewed up the pants didn’t do a good job and it wasn’t neat. I don’t really know who did this. There are alot of characters in the book and for any character in the book you should probably make a good argument about how it could be them.
The last major thing that happened in this chapter had to do with the knothole in the tree. During this chapter Jem and Scout find a ball of twine, two figures carved from soap that look similar to Jem and Scout, a whole pack of gum, and a grandfather watch. When things started to show up in the knothole I thought that the things were from a child or random animal but know I don’t think so. This is because the soap carvings look like Scout and Jem and a older person would probably have the skill and time to do this. Also the fact that things only show up during the school year. Jem and Scout didn’t look in the knothole during the summer but I think that nothing was in there at that time. The saddest part of this chapter to me is when the knotehole is covered up my Nathan Raley. I think that it is strange that he covered up the hole with cement know even though it has been there for at least a year.
I think that this part of the book is sad because Jem and Scout are very sad about this. Scout doesn’t cry about it but Jem does. When he was comforting Scout when they first found out about the knothole I think that he was really comforting himself. I think that we do this in our own life. If you are trying to be a good role model and comfort someone else you also say those things to tell yourself everything will be okay. This is just Jem’s personality. He tries to act tough in front of Scout and hold in his edmotions so he often cries in secret. I think that Jem is trying to live to to his father as well. I think that Jem should stop doing this because it will hurt him emotionally.
Sam Bautista Blog Post
In this Chapter Jem Barely spoke for a week, and scout remembered to step into his shoes to have a view from his perspective, so she did and she didn’t bother him. So school Started, and Scout said that she didn’t like it since they still waved cards in their face, and they still didn’t learn how to write yet,the only good thing about it was that she left at the same time as Jem so they can walk back home together. While they walk back, and Jem tells her about what happened that night, she asks what, and he tells her that they had rips in them from being caught in the fence, and when he got them they were folded, and they were stitched up, then he goes on telling her about how school is. They go to the knothole, and they find a pocket watch, and they go home to sow atticus, he asks them how they got it, and he lets them keep it. The next day they walk past the Radley house, and they see that the knothole was filled with cement, and they ask him why, and he tells them that the tree is dying, then they go home.
This chapter was spooky tight in time for Halloween. When jem went back and got his pants they were stitched up, and folded which gave me instant goose bumps. It’s funny how the other students in Scouts class still needs a teacher to wave cards at them while she already knows everything. Which unlike me, I probably still need people to wave cards at my face to make me learn something. I keep on wondering if Mr.Radley saw the note, and that was the reason why he put cement in the knothole, I am pretty sure that we’ll find out very soon, and that It’ll be very creepy.
TKAM Chapter 7
Scout and Jem are finding more stuff in the knot hole of the tree. First they found a ball of grey twine. Jem said that they should take it, but Scout said that it might be Cunningham's hiding spot because he goes down there every recess and hides things. They decided to leave it there for a few days. It was still there after a couple of days, so they took it. The second thing that they found were two bars of soap with a carved boy in one of them and a carved girl in the other. They both realized that the carved figures was them and they both freaked out a little bit. They thought of Mr. Avery because he is the one who carves things. The third thing that they found was a medal and the fourth thing was a pocket watch on a chain with a knife. Scout said it was their biggest prize. There could be several people putting things in the knot hole of the tree, or it could be one person. Scout and Jem decide to write a letter to who was leaving stuff in the knot hole of the tree. When they put it in the tree, the next day they saw that the hole was filled with cement. Jem asked Mr. Radley why it was filled with cement and he said the tree was dying. He said that you put cement in trees when they are sick.
Jem told Scout about what happened when he went to go get his pants. Jem said that he saw his pants folded on the fence. He said it was like someone knew he was going to come back to get them. He also said that they were stitched up for him because his pants ripped when his pants got caught on the fence. Jem feels like he should tell Atticus, but he doesn't want to. This has been on his mind for awhile now and he can't get it out of his head. He can't tell Atticus because he doesn't want to let Atticus down. If he tells Atticus, he will let him down and he will probably let himself down too. He will also get a bad punishment. He cried at the end of the chapter when they were going inside. He is going crazy over this and wants to tell Atticus, but Jem can't.

TKAM Chapter 7
For a week after the night of retrieving his pants, Jem was silent and moody, and Scout left him alone. School's started again, and Scout is in second grade and Jem is in sixth. Scout's frustrated that in second grade, they still don't read and write yet, some of her classmates from first grade are repeating. On one afternoon when they're walking home from school, Jem tells Scout what really happened on the night. When they had been running, the pants had gotten caught on the fence and were tangled there. However, when Jem had gone back to get them, they were folded across the fence, and sewed up, but not as neatly as a lady would have sewn them. It was as if someone knew Jem would be coming back for them. Jem's been thinking about that night a lot, and he's kind of uneasy about it if he's been quiet all week. They pass the knothole, and inside is a ball of twine, and some days later, they find two carved dolls, Jem and Scout. Some more things they find in the knothole are: a whole package of gum, a tarnished medal, and a pocket watch that wouldn't run, on a chain with an aluminum knife. They wanted to write a letter to whoever was leaving the things in the knothole, but the day they decide to leave the letter, Jem finds the knothole was filled with cement. Nathan Radley claimed since the tree was dying, he filled it with cement. That evening though, they asked Atticus if the tree on the Radley property was dying, and he pointed out its leaves are still green and stuff, it's healthy.
Jem had found his pants all folded and sewed up and stuff, but sewing didn't look like it was done by a lady; Jem even said that it looked like the quality of a job that he would do: someone of the male gender maybe. The fence was between the Radley property and the schoolyard, maybe Boo came out of the house and did that for Jem. Nathan Radley couldn't have folded it and all, he was busy telling the neighborhood he was going to shoot anyone and anything else that got onto his property. Comment below if you also have a million questions about all the stuff Jem and Scout have found in the knothole. Someone has been leaving them gum, two coins, a ball of string, two carved figures of them, more gum, etc. Who keeps putting things in the knothole? If it was Boo, why would he leave them that stuff? If it's a child's, why would they keep putting stuff there for no reason? Another thing, why would Nathan Radley fill up the knothole with cement if the tree isn't dying? As Atticus pointed out, it's as healthy as Jem.
Chapter 6 | The Radley House
In chapter six, Jem, Dill, and Scout had gone out at night to sneak around the Radley house. They wanted to peak in through the windows to see if they could see Boo Radley and what was inside of the house. This took guts, and they all were willing to do it, though Scout was chickening out, she had been nervous and kept telling them to turn back. Though she still continued with them. They were doing it this night, because Dill was leaving the next day, so he had wanted to have fun with them before he had to leave Maycomb. When they had reached the house, they had gone from the backyard gate to get onto the Radley property. They had looked inside a window and barely saw anything, so they had come back around, and that was when Scout and the other two saw a shadow coming towards them. The shadow had shot a bullet to kind of scare them. They all immediately ran as far as they could go. Jem had got his pants stuck on a metal fence, and left it there, because he did not want to get caught.
When the three of them got back around there house, they saw a lot of people around the Radley house, including Dill's aunt and Atticus. The three had gone to all the people. At this part of the book I was getting kind of angry, because Jem had gone right to the people with no pants on, so I was thinking that he could get caught easily, if Mr. Radley saw that Jem was missing his pants, and later he finds a pair of pants, he would know right away that Jem had gone onto his property. Jem could've gone home and put on another pair of pants, so people would be less suspicious and would've have not had the awkward conversation that they had about poker to their dad and Dill's aunt. At the end of the chapter Jem and Scout were sleeping in their room, when Jem had gotten up and Scout had asked where he was going, he then replied that he had to get back his pants, because he promised his father that he'd bring them back. He respected his father a lot, and didn't want to lie to him. It was very risky to go back to the house to retrieve his pants, because Mr. Nathan Radley had said if someone stepped on his land again he'd shoot the person, doesn't matter who it is. Jem goes and comes back safe and sound and Scout is relieved he is safe.

A Terrible Idea
In chapter six Dill had to go back to Mississippi the next day because summer was ending. Before Dill wanted to leave he wanted to check on the Radley's house. Scout didn't want to come along but she was under pressure and decided to come along. They went to the backyard and Jem lifted Dill up to check the window if there is anything. Dill didn't see anything and Jem went check the window if there is anything. Before anything can happen a gunshot went off, Mr. Radley did this out of defence because he doesn't know who is intruding. Everyone ran out but Jem got his pants stuck in the fence so he just left it there. In the middle of the late night Jem got scared that he will get caught by Atticus or get gossiped on so he went back and grabbed his pants.
I think what Jem, Scout, and Dill did was terrible because they could of gotten hurt. They basically intruded someone else's property without their permission. Atticus told them not to bother Boo anymore but they decided to take it to the next level and intrude his property. This was not a good idea because they could of gotten killed. To make matters even worse Jem went back in the middle of the night to get his pants back which was really risky because he had just intruded Boos property not long ago. If it were me I would rather take the blame than get myself hurt. Jem didn't want to get scolded by Atticus. I still dont think Boo is a bad person. He only shot his gun out of defence, if someone intruded your home I think you would be on guard too.

To Kill A Mockingbird Chapter 6
To Kill a Mockingbird
In the beginning of chapter 6 we discover that Dill will be going back to Mississippi. Dill tells them to go on a walk but to Scout it sounds fishy because people in Maycomb don't go around asking for jobs. however, she accepted and so did Jem. Jem and Dill were planning to peak into the Radleys house even though Atticus was against it. they decided to go through a tall wire fence instead of going through the lot of the Radleys. They decided to go at night because no one would see them. They from no where saw a shadow, a man with a gun. Jem was really scared and crumbled up into a ball, the man was very close to him but he managed to escape. All of them headed to the school fence, but while Jem was going through the fence his pants got stuck and had to go on without them. While heading home they were met by all of the neighbors. Miss Stephanie was starting to gossip about the kids but atticus stopped them and asked Dill to give Jem some pants. However, Jem was too big and couldn't fit in Dills clothes but thanked him anyways. And Scout and Dill had a kiss before Dill had to leave.
This chapter was very interesting. Jem got his pants caught on the fence and had to go on without them. The story they created for it was very funny, Dill said he had won Jems pants and obviously Miss Stephanie was going to gossip about all of it. Atticus luckily stopped her before she had time to speak. Another interesting part was that Dill before leaving kissed Scout swiftly. Now I am wondering if they are going to end up together at the end of the chapter. Also, the solution they found when they saw the mans shadow was creative. They wanted to see Boo but almost ended up shot. I think Jem was the one that was scared the most. I mean he was a few inches away from the Man and could of easily been confused as a African-American. The real question are: Will Dill and Scout become a thing? Will Jem get his pants back? Will they be discovered?
Mistakes Were Made
Dill and Jem decide to go and try to take a peek inside of the Radley house. At first, Scout does not want to go, but she ends up going with Jem and Dill. so they made an agreement and they spit on it. However, the situation doesn't turn out well as Mr. Nathan Radley set off a gunshot since he heard sounds and was defending himself, and Jem was risking a lot to go back to the Radley house after that incident to try to get his pants back since he may get in trouble if his pants are found by someone else.My opinion is that they should of never went to his house because they knew they were going to get in trouble I think of this situation is it was a very bad decision in the first place, but it was also very dangerous as one of them could've been shot by Mr. Nathan Radley. they also got in a lot of danger. When they got back they said that they where playing a game of poker they asked if they were gambling. However Atticus told them that he would never like to hear about this ever again.he woke up around two in the morning, Jem decides that he is going back to the Radley house area to get back his pants that he left there. While they were running away, Jem's pants got caught on the fence.
My opinion of this book is that It was kind of silly because he lost his pants because of a bet. I think that it is a good idea that Jem to get his pants so he does not getting into more trouble. But, if I was him, I would not go back to get my pants. My reading is because Mr. Radley could of had shot me and I was going to be dead. Or I would get caught by Mr. Radley and I was going to be in big trouble to. I had never played poker but I have heard about it. Overall this chapter was verry funny and it also had a lot of drama.

Atticus Knows What They Are Playing
We read about how Jem, Dill and Scout were planning on giving a note to Boo Radley by passing it through the window using a fishing pole. It was a note that said if he came out they would give him ice cream, as long as they get to talk to him. When Atticus catches them he immediately knows what they are doing. Since Dill was supposed to be their watch guard he just stands there beside Atticus ringing the bell. Atticus uses the "Golden rule" and asks the question even though he already knew the answer he was seeing if Jem would lie. Atticus tells Jem to stop tormenting the man. Jem, Dill, and Scout didn't even think of the fact that they are playing the Boo Radley game right in their front yard meaning everyone passing by or ayne who lives in their neighborhood can see them reenacting the rumors or Boo's life. Including Boo, it must be embarrassing for Arthur to watch them or maybe he finds it funny watching the kids play which might be why Scout heard him laughing. We don't know how he laughed though so he could've been laughing a creepy evil laugh.
I think Boo is an innocent man. Well, maybe not 100% innocent but I don't think that he goes around at night looking through people's windows. Which is the rumor that Miss Stephanie Crawford was spreading. If he did want to come outside before he probably won't want to anymore, because of all the rumors he would get stared at no matter where he goes. Especially if Dill Scout or Jem saw him, they would want to talk to him. Boo isn't as bad as he seems I think, in my opinion.

Boo Radley, Gunshots, and Jem's Pants
In chapter 6, it is Dill's last night in Maycomb. Dill and Jem decide to go and try to take a peek inside of the Radley house. At first, Scout does not want to go, but she ends up going with Jem and Dill. However, the situation doesn't turn out well as Mr. Nathan Radley set off a gunshot since he heard sounds and was defending himself, and Jem was risking a lot to go back to the Radley house after that incident to try to get his pants back since he may get in trouble if his pants are found by someone else. Personally, what I think of this situation is it was a very bad decision in the first place, but it was also very dangerous as one of them could've been shot by Mr. Nathan Radley. Atticus has already told them what seems like multiple times to leave the Radley house and Boo alone. However, they didn't follow what Atticus said. Instead, not only did they not follow what Atticus told them, but they also got in a lot of danger. Overall, in my opinion, the situation was a mess with the gunshot, Dill lying to cover up for Jem saying that he won Jem's pants in a bet, and more.
That night at about two in the morning, Jem decides that he is going back to the Radley house area to get back his pants that he left there. While they were running away, Jem's pants got caught on the fence, so he had no other choice than to take off his pants to be able to escape. However, after being relieved that nothing happened to Dill, Scout, or him, Jem decides that he wants to go and get his pants back to prevent himself from getting into more trouble. Thinking of this situation, I think that it is partly a good idea for Jem to get his pants back to avoid getting into more trouble. However, if I were him, I would not go back to get my pants. The reason for this is because, I would rather get scolded at than increase my risk to get shot and possibly killed, because Mr. Nathan Radley said that he was going to be more aware, and he was willing to shoot again if he heard anymore sounds. Mainly for me, the part where the gunshot went off in the whole situation is a big and important part. Scout even mentioned to Jem that it was not worth it. I agree with her when she said, "A lickin' hurts but it doesn't last. You'll get your head shot off, Jem." I agree with her that it is not worth it, and in the end, I would not go back to get the pants if I were Jem. Fortunately, Jem came back safe with his pants, and no one was hurt in this situation.

Sam Bautista Blog Post
What happened in this chapter is we meet out characters Jem, and scout. Jem broke his arm, and he was afraid of never to be able to play football again, until his arm healed. Another character we met was Dill, and he gave Jem, and scout the idea to try and get Boo Radley out, Boo is a man that has not been seen in years, he always stays inside his home, jem, and scout don’t have that many relatives, only their father Atticus’s brother, and sister. Jem, and Scout’s mom died, at a very early age for them,Scout didn’t really know her mom since she died when she couldn’t remember her, but she died when Jem could remember her so, he sometimes gets sad when he thinks of her. When they meet dill Dill tells them he can read which is a good thing in the south back then, he tells them he’s read dracula, and Jem tells him to tell him about, they start telling him some info about boo, about how he was with the wrong crowd, and got into some trouble, Dill dares Jem to touch the radley house, jem did it but it took him some time to get the courage to do it, once he did it he ran away.
Some of my thoughts about this chapter is that why would they keep their kid in the house for 15 years? After court 15 years ago he hasn’t been seen by anyone since then. It is kind of weird that atticus raises, jem, and scout differently, by having them call him sir, or atticus, not what the normal parent would do. I also think the reason he does this is because of his morales of acting in the same manner even though nobody is watching. So far this book has gotten me very hooked (Just like every book we read in Mr.Boyles class) but this book is different than the others in some way.

Miss Maudie and Boo Radley
In chapter 5, we learn more about Miss Maudie and Boo Radley. Miss Maudie is the Finches favorite neighbor and has a very green thumb. She oves to garden and thinks that time spent indors is time wasted. She also enjoys baking and often makes cakes. One day Scout and Miss Maudie were talking and Scout asked her if she knew anything about Bood Radley and if she thought he was alive. Miss Maudie tells her that she knows that Artur is alive because they hadn't brought his bodie out. She also asked my they never leave their house. Miss Maudie tells her that they are foot washing baptists and think that basically everything was a sin and that everyone should stay home and read the Bible. They also take the Bible very seriously. When Scout was playing in the yard, Jem and Dill tried to make her leave, but she wouldn't. They let her stay, but only if she does what they say, she says ok. Dill and Jem tell her that they are going to put a note on Boo Radleys window. They ultimatley get caught and Atticus tricks Jem into admitting everything they've been doing.
I don't have many opinions on this chapter, but I can say a few things that struck my mind. The first being Miss Maudie and her lifestyle. Its really interesting to me, and I really enjoy reading about her. I aslo think that she is a really good character for Scout and a good female for her to look up to. Another thing that I have seen in this chapter is how poorly Boo is treated by most of his neighboors. I feel bad for him because no one has gotten to know him or even attempted to. I think he deserves a chance to be treated just as all the others are. Do you feel bad for him? Do you tink he for some reason deserves it?

Bad Decision
In chapter six, we find out that it is Dill's last day in Alabama, and that he is leaving to Mississippi the net day. Jem and Dill decide to try to take a look through the window with the loose shutter of the Boo Radley house. At first, Scout didn't want to go with them, but she finally gives in and goes with them. They go in through the backyard, during night. Scout and Jem help Dill get up to the window, and Dill takes a look inside the Radley house. He says that he could only see a little bit of light coming from in the house, but nothing else. They tried seeing into the room by the front window. Jem went onto the porch to get a look through the window. They were caught by Mr. Nathan Radley, and Scout was almost shot by Mr. Radley. While they were getting out, Jem's pants got caught on the fence, and he left them there. Dill covered up for Jem while saying that he won a bet and won Jem's pants. Jem went to go get his pants back in the middle of the night, and successfully returned.
I think that what Jem, Scout, and Dill did was not okay. Atticus told them that they should stop bothering Boo Radley, but they disobeyed him. Instead of not bothering Boo like Atticus said, they went out and tried looking into his window. That is the opposite of what Atticus said to do. I think that they should have never done that because now they have disobeyed Atticus. What they did was also very dangerous. They could have gotten shot and killed, and it would have been their fault for obsessing over a man. I think that what they did was very irresponsible and immature. And to make matters worse, they lied to Atticus and Miss Rachel to cover it up. They made many bad decisions in this chapter, that put them in danger. Jem also went back in the middle of the night to get his pants back. He put himself in a lot of danger by doing this because he could have been shot by Mr. Nathan Radley. He didn't make the best decision by going out in the middle of the night to get his pants. In conclusion, I think that Jem, Scout, and Dill all made very bad decisions that put them in danger, or that would have gotten them in a lot of trouble.

Atticus using the Golden Rule
I find it funny that instead of Jem just sending Boo Radley the note through the front door, but he tries to put it in the window. This plan would have never worked, because how would Jem know if Boo read it, because there is no way to take off the note of the fishing pole to leave it there. I find it stupid that he would even try to do something like that just to get Boo Radley to come out of the house. I also find it funny that Dill totally didn't do his job. He was expected to ring the bell once someone was coming, not when he wasn't already there. Dill started ringing the bell once Atticus was in front of him, not when he was walking down the street towards them or even before that. I think that their entire plan to give Boo Radley a note was terribly planned and executed, and why couldn't Jem have listened to Scout in the first place and just not disturb Boo and make fun of him.
I think that Atticus is very smart to make his own kids confess to something that he already suspected they were doing. When Atticus caught them getting the note, he used the Golden Rule to get Jem to confess what they were doing. The Golden Rule is when you don't ask a question you don't already know the answers to. Atticus knew what they were trying to do, and he got Jem to say everything that they were doing. We talked about how everyone uses the rule besides lawyers, parents use this rule on us all the time. I realized that my parents have used the rule on me too. I find it funny that Atticus knew the entire time what they were doing, and when he gave his kids the chance to confess, Jem did, he didn't totally try to lie his way out of it, and that shows a lot, and even I wish I would tell the truth a little bit more.

Trouble Makers
In chapter six,we find that Dill will be leaving to Mississippi and that today's his last day in Alabama. In his last day Dill,Scout, and Jem do something that they should of have since they were told by Atticus that they should leave Boo Radley alone.By that I mean Dill said to Jem,"let's go for a walk and Jem found something odd about it.Dill wanted to go to the Radley house, thy alos convince Scout to come with them.At first Dill has to be carried to see if they can see Boo Radley from the window but Dill couldn't see nothing.I was dumbfounded when Scout took a look and saw someone with a hat and before that she thought it was a tree.Later on they run because they heard a gunshot and they ran which I wasn't expecting and I found it funny how Jem left his pants because he got stuck in the fence. The last thing I am going to say that Mr.Radley shot in the air because Miss.Maudie said he probably scared a African American and a part I found kind of funny is that Atticus asked why Jem doesn't have any pants, later on Jem go gets his pants back.
My opinion about this chapter is that Jem,Dill, and Scout shouldn't of gone to the Radley place to take a look on their window.I have two reasons why it was a bad idea one is that it would be creepy having kids looking inside your window at night when you don't even know it.And second is that they should listen to Atticus because he said to leave Boo Radley alone.I find this chapter funny and shocking,One is that I find funny how Dill kissed Scout before leaving and two Jem getting stuck in a fence and leaving his pants to get out.I got shocked when Miss.Maudie told the kids(Dill,Jem,and Scout)that Mr.Radley shot at black person, shot in the air trying to scare.Jem and Scout should know better because they were already told by Atticus to leave Boo Radley alone, but they chose not to leave him alone and decided to stock him by looking at his window. DO YOU AGREE WITH MY OPINION?
Bad Habits
Jem lost a bet to Dill. This may not sound like much on the surface, but below it is really concerning for Jem. He played poker with Dill for his shirt, and he lost. Dill has the shirt now. Atticus and Miss Rachel now know about this bet and they scolded the two on betting. Atticus tells Jem and Scout never to try to gamble and bet on anything in a nice tone, but Miss Rachel is a little more strict. She tells Dill that if anymore of this stuff happens, he will get a severe punishment. This behavior from Jem and Dill show that they are falling victim to peer pressure and extra steps need to be taken to subdue them. Most teenagers experience them, with me being in that group of people, so I understand what the two are going through. I am concerned about Dill though. He is not a teen, but he is already experiencing the negative changes. This may be due to his parents divorce, and their wanting for him to be gone.
It seems like Dill and Jem have not learned their lesson for messing with Boo Radley's life. The very next day, they try to sneak into the house. When they get in, they are greeted by Nathan Radley, Boo's brother, holding a shotgun, who walks into the front door. Miss Maudie is in there with him, as well as Miss Rachel and Atticus. They are told about a story that Nathan shot at a black man, but didn't kill him, because he thought he was going to be robbed. The next thing that he hears, he will shoot at, and kill. At night, Jem thinks it is a good idea to sneak into the Radley house again, but Atticus catches him, and sends him back. This is another bad habit both Jem and Dill have. They did not learn their lesson, even after getting caught. Jem even risked his life for it. This is another thing that teens have a problem with. They try to do stupid stuff for popularity, and they would risk their life for belongings, like a phone.

Did Boo Radley Put Things in the Knothole of the Tree?
In the recent chapters we learn more about the children's obsession with Boo Radley. It really deepens as they find things in the knothole of the tree. The children appear greedy rather than trying to seek out the person whose stuff it is or leave it alone, they decided to keep it unless someone tells them to return it or the real owner asks for it. It seems only to benefit their self-interest and does not help whoever put these things their. Though I am not certain as from reading it I am not certain as to if they are doing this hoping to keep it or waiting until the end of the summer trying to be considerate though not trying to contact him seems a little selfish.
Though more on Boo Radley the children reenact a game called Boo Radley which Atticus later calls them out on. It is reenacting all the rumors and gossip spread about a neighbor who never shows his face out of embarrassment which you put on display for the edifice of the entire neighborhood. It only strengthens his resolve to not show his face, but Harper Lee really seems to be hinting that Boo Radley is alive and watching them sometimes, but not in a creepy way I assume. The evidence we got for that in the last few chapters were that their was laughing when Scout rolled in a tire and hit the his front door. Another piece of evidence is that there was a shutterflick when Jem knocked on his door implying he opened the blinds to peer at them and then shut right away when they turned back after running from him. If that was Boo Radley at the blinds it brings up the question as you learn in chapter five, could the knothole in the tree with a lot of stuff be from Boo Radley? There are a few points that indicate it could be his, first of all it is in his backyard, and though only children they assume hide things Boo Radley being as weird as they think him to be could put it in the knothole. It is also very weird things for a kid to have. Indian coins maybe if they are religious and have some meaning there though I assume they are just an item Boo Radley wanted to keep hidden. Though I think the second most probable option I have heard is that a squirrel just found those things and put it in the knothole of the tree. It would explain having an Indian head coin, but a huge problem I see with this is how the squirrel could bring gum to the tree. That is what really seems to shoot this theory down. Another one that I think is the most probable option is that it is from some random person we have not met, we are only five chapters into the book so it would not be too out of the ordinary.

TKAM Post
In chapter four, a lot of things happened with the idea of Boo Radley. First of all, Scout found gum in the hole of the tree that was in front of the Radley Residence. This is quite odd, since not a lot of people go that way. Scout wanted to chew it of course, so first, she licked it. When she didn't die, she proceeded to chew it. Jem then told her to spit it out because it's unsafe to chew/eat things you find on the ground. When Jem and Scout are walking past the Radley Residence, they find something else. They find a little box with Indian Head pennies in them. These are like good luck tokens described by Jem. He doesn't suspect it's any adult's, so he proposes the idea of keeping them until school starts again. Finally, at the end of the chapter we find out Scout heard something in the Radley Residence. When she was in the tire, rolling down the street, she had gotten up, and she swore she heard someone laughing within the house.
My first impressions are, why aren't they more suspicious about the gum? I'd be a little scared if there was just random gum in a the hole of a tree. Also, I'm not so fond of scout picking it up and deciding to eat it. It was safe, but it's not a really great thing to get used to in the future. I am happy that Jem did the smart thing and told Scout to spit it out. Second of all, why wouldn't they leave the box in the tree? It is not theirs, and it's not right to steal. They're old and hold value to someone, and someone is aware they left it there, so leave it there. However, I am a little bit worried about the laughing inside the house. Who would've that been? Doesn't that mean the person was watching them the whole time? This worries me. At the near end of the chapter, Dill, Scout, and Jem are running out of games to play. They decide to make one about the Radleys over the summer. They make a lot of assumptions however, while doing so. I think this is them being ignorant to the fact that they've never met Boo Radley, yet they are believing all of the rumors.

TKAM Chapter 4
Scout was been seeing and hearing this inside of the Radley house. Jem and Scout have heard many rumors about the Radleys. After Jem touched the Radley's house, Scout looked back at the house and she saw the shutters move. Scout and Jem found a purple box in a tree next to their house and they found gum and pennies in it. They thought it was somebody's hiding spot, but then they realized that no one would hide their. Everyone avoids the Radley house except for Scout and Jem because they have to walk right by it to get to their house. When Scout landed in the Radley's yard with the tire, she heard laughing inside of the house. Scout doesn't tell anyone and keeps it a secret to herself. This could be Boo Radley who has been doing all of this or it could be one of the other Radleys. Jem and Scout have been trying to figure out things about the Radleys.
After Jem, Scout, and Dill had Lemonade, Jem decides that they play a game. The game is that they are going to be like the Radleys and act like them. This game lasted for awhile and they started to act like other people. They have acted out the rumors that people thought the Radleys did. The longer that the game went on, the more that they acted like the Radleys. One day while they were playing the game, Atticus saw Jem with the scissors cutting up the newspaper and asked what he was doing. Jem kept the game a secret from Atticus and Calpurnia because if they knew about the game, Scout, Jem, and Dill will get in trouble. Atticus was asking if this had to do with the Radley's because Atticus thinks that it is disrespectful. Scout doesn't want to play the game anymore because she is tired of the yelling and all of the head shaking. The other reason is that she doesn't want to get in trouble with Atticus.

Friendship
Today in class we have just finished reading chapter four on To Kill A Mockingbird. Sofar I think that the book is very interesting I think that Harper Lee’s writing style is unique and something that I’m not really used to. A few things have happened in chapter four but the thing that I will talk about today is at the end of the chapter when Dill, Scout, and Jem are playing a game. The game is of course about Boo Radley that Jem has made up. Scout played Mrs. Radley, Dill was Mr. Radley and Jem of course played Boo himself. Dill, Scout and Jem reenacted rumors that were spreaded around town. One of the rumors being that Boo stabbed his father in the leg with a pair of scissors randomly when he was cutting paper for his scrapbook.
The children showed this in their game by having Jem cun pecis of newspaper and the fake stab Dill. I have really enjoyed this book so far because I think is shows the importance of friendship. The ending of chapter four shows how the children use their games and creativity to understand the real world. I rely on your friends to help you understand the world. I think that now during this time period we take friendship for granted. People are very untrusting and lonely because they think that having close friends in the book is not apart of the real world. This can even go back to the fact that people are losing their child innocence to fast. As you lose your childhood innocence you start to realize that people can turn on you or just not respect you for who you are. This is why I admire and aspire to have a friendship like Scout, Jem and Dill.
End of Chapter Four
Jem retrieved the tire from the front of the Radley house steps, said it was mortifying for Scout to act like a girl, and then Calpurnia calls them for lemonade which was when he came up with the next activity he thinks they should do. He called their game "Boo Radley," Scout will be Mrs. Radley and all she had to do was sweep the porch, Dill was the late Mr. Radley and would cough whenever Jem spoke to him, and Jem would be Boo, he would go under the front steps and shrieked and howled from time to time. Over the summer they added more bits to their game, rumors such as that Mrs. Radley was beautiful before marrying Mr. Radley, and she cries all the time while Boo whittles away all the furniture in the house. While they were doing Chapter 15, Book Two of One Man's Family, they didn't see Atticus standing nearby. He asked them what they were doing, and why they had the scissors then if they weren't doing anything. Jem responds they weren't doing anything, and Atticus takes the scissors, and asks them if what they were doing had anything to do with the Radleys. Jem said again that they weren't doing anything, Atticus says he hopes they weren't, and heads back inside the house. Scout tell Jem she thinks that Atticus knows anyway that they were poking fun about the Radleys, which he then tells her that she was being a girl, and no one likes girls because they always imagine things. Scout hadn't wanted to play the games for two reasons, Atticus coming had been the second. The first had been the day she rolled into the Radley front yard in the tire. Through all the other noise and nausea, she had barely heard it, but inside the house, someone had been laughing.
I thought it wasn't really nice of Jem to say those things to Scout about girls, that everyone hates them and they always imagine things and all. Half of the human population is female, and Scout is her own person, she can say whatever she wants. It also wasn't very kind of Jem to yell at her to retrieve the tire from the Radleys'' front yard when he was the one who pushed her to there in the first place. The last part of Chapter four had been a tad scary, because if Mr. Radley is dead, Nathan Radley isn't always in town, only Mrs. Radley and Boo are left in the house, and from what we know so far, Mrs. Radley doesn't seem to be one to laugh at little kids getting sick from rolling in tires. At the end of Chapter one, somebody in the house had flicked a shutter for a second, so we know Scout wasn't imagining someone laughing in the house.

Chapter Four (End of the chapter)
At first Jem had a game Idea and it was called Boo Radley. They played it by Scout being Mrs. Radle, but then she said that she is not sure she wants to play. Then Jem told her that if she is still scared about Boo Radley. Then she decided to play her role was just to be Mrs. Radley and come in and sweep the porch. Dill was Mr. Radley and all he had to do was just walked up and down the sidewalk and coughed when Jem spoke to him.
Jem was Boo Radley and all he did was under the front steps and shrieked and howeld from time to time. Then they were still playing and then one time Atticus came in and saw them playing Boo Radley. He ask what were they playing and Jem just said nothing and Scout just did not say anything. Then Atticus saw the scissors and told Jem what were they for and Jem just said nothing and Atticus took the scissors and he also ask Jem if this had something to do with the Radleys and Jem said no. Then Atticus said he hopes it doesn't, then after Scout did not want to play because one reason is that Atticus and the other is because she heard a laughed inside boo's house.
TKAM Chapter 4
In this chapter, Scout was heading home from school, and she spotted two oak trees that were at the edge of the Radley house. The trees had knotholes in them, one of the trees contained two pieces wrapped in tin foil, which seemed to look like gum. Scout went to look at the gum, to see if it had anything in it. Scout started to lick and smell the gum, to see if something was going to happen to her. When nothing happened to her she puts the gum in her mouth, Jem then tells Scout to spit it out because she does not know where it has been. Scout then checks out the other tree to find two Indian heads, which look really creepy to her.
Scout and Jem thought that if Boo Radley had put the Indian heads, and the gum in the tree. I think that Scout and Jem might head into one of Boo Radley's traps, or he just wants to prove that he is nice, and not a creepy old man. In my opinion I think that Boo is an innocent man, people are just ignorant to not know him, and that could be why he does not come out of his house because people will say bad things to him. Do you agree with me or do you not, I think that Boo is a good man, once we get to know him better, or if he would ever come out of his home. If Boo is really a good man, people will probably will feel horrible that they had been so ignorant to not know who he really is, and the rumors that they had spread would be all false.

Normal or Monster?
When Scout hears laughing |
Boo hearing new rumors about himself |
I personally think that because of all the rumors that are spread about Boo, it makes him feel bad that so many people think about him like that. I wouldn't want to be in my home knowing that people talk about me and fully sprint when they pass my home. I wouldn't like that feeling, I think that Boo is just a normal guy and that maybe he did have a rough past as a teenager. However, I think that Boo put those gifts in the tree because he wants Scout and Jem to know that he is just a normal guy. Overall, I think that Boo is just a normal guy and he wants people to know that. Do you think that he is some sort of monster? Or do you agree with me? What do you think?

Things Inside of a Tree?
When Scout was heading home from school she spotted two oak trees that stood at the edge of the Radley place. One of the trees contained two pieces of tinfoil which appears to be some kind of chewing gum. Scout was curious and she examined the gum if there were any problems with it. Scout then smelled and licked the gum. When nothing happened to her she assumed it was safe and she put it in her mouth. Jem told Scout to spit the gum out because who knows where the gum has been in. Then Scout examined the other tree which contained Indian heads which was really odd and creepy. Jem and Scout were thinking if Boo Radley had to do anything with the chewing gum and the Indian heads. I am thinking of two possible theories. What if someone else is trying to sneak some weird things in the tree to make people think that Boo Radley is a weird and creepy person. My other theory is Boo Radley trying to lure some children closer to his house so he can kidnap them. In my opinion I think that Boo Radley is an innocent person because there is no proof so far that he did anything wrong. A lot of people are ignorant and wont give Boo Radley a chance.
The new teacher Miss Caroline one day told Burris to go home and bathe because he was so dirty. Burris didn't want to leave and Miss Caroline is wondering what is wrong with him. Scout had to explain why Burris was really rude. Burris was part of the Ewell family which were known as a disgrace in all of Maycomb. The Ewell family would never do anything good in Maycomb and they are all very ignorant. Burris would go to the first day of school and would never come back for the rest of the days. When Miss Caroline told Burris to leave he didn't want too and he insulted her calling her a terrible teacher. In this book people have different point of views and dont understand what is going on in that persons life. I think that there are going to be a lot of issues in this book because of peoples ignorance.
The Beginning of Chapter Four
The beginning of the chapter had started out with them coming home from the last school day of the year. Which means that in a couple of days Dill will be coming to Maycomb to spend the summer with his Aunt Rachel. Jem and especially Scout are excited for Dill to be coming, since they love playing games with him and hanging out with him. When coming home from school Scout had spotted a piece of fresh gum in the tree by the Radley house. She had instantly put it in her mouth and Jem had made her spit it out. They both were kind of confused at why there had been fresh gum in the tree. Personally, I thought it was a bit weird for a couple pieces of gum to be in the middle of a tree.Scout had gone by the tree after a day and had found Indian
coins. Jem had inspected them and he had found out that the coins were pretty old. It was then the both started wondering if someone was hiding their things in the tree and if it was right for them to take things from the tree and they suspect it could be one of the Radley's, because no kid from school passes the Radley house, except for them and no one would dare to hide their things in a tree in front of the Radley house. I honestly think that Boo Radley or any kid is putting these items in the tree, I think that some sort of animal is doing this, possibly a squirrel or some sort of animal like it. Jem then decides to keep them and when school had come he was going to go around asking if it was one of the students that the coins belonged to. Dill had arrived two days later and they had played with Dill.
Boo and His Tree
At the end of the school year of Scout She found gum in the Radley's place. she picked it up she smelled it she licked it and since she did not die she ate it. When her brother got home he got mad at her because it was at the Radley’s place. She said she founded on the tree so she gave him evidence. Jem Looked closer to the tree and found a box with pennies in it.But it was not a regular Penny it was a Indian head penny. And if you search how much they cost they cost around $1000 to $4000. Also because they were old and very old. it was summer so Dill Came over and ask what they were going to play. he was tired of playing one role so he said if he could play another roll. He told Scout to make a story up. They went to go get an old tire Dill wanted to do first because he just got here but stopped when first. Jem push the tired as hard as he can she was terrified but could not put her hands out to stop it.
I would be very scared to touch a gum from the Radley's place. If I were to hear all of those scary stories about him. But I know that Boo is not like that he wouldn't put poison in his tree. I would have told my mom right away that I Boo’s tree. I would also be bored if I got the same role that was boring over and over again. It looks very fun to get in a tire and roll. But it is also scary because you can go and extremely speed and you won't be able to stop it. if you were to put your hand out it would have been burned by the cement and the speed. So I would like to do that if I was going in tremendous speed. Why are you so ignorant about Boo if you still don't meet him don't talk to him her never seen him. He could just be another nice neighbor. I also didn't understand the beginning of Chapter four and all of those ways you can teach.

Gifts in a Tree?
As Scout was heading home one day, something caught her eye that made her go back to in front of the Radley place. There, there were two live oaks that stood at the edge of the Radley lot. One of the trees had some tinfoil that was sticking in a knot-hole just above her eye level. From the hole, Scout took out two pieces of chewing gum. Before Scout ate the chewing gum, she observed it to make sure that it was not poisonous since it was from a tree that stood at the edge of the Radley lot. She smelled the gum and licked it. When nothing abnormal happened, Scout just ate the gum. Later, Scout took Jem to the tree with her, and they found another thing in the tree. This time, there were valuable Indian-heads.
There are many different ways people can view the repeating situation of Scout finding objects in the tree. Some people may find this situation interesting, and some people may find this situation just weird and creepy. Personally, I find this is situation both interesting and weird and creepy. What Scout found in the tree that stood at the edge of the Radley lot are somewhat normal things such as chewing gum and the Indian-heads. However, it is also unexpected since who would find these things in a tree? What I am thinking right now is if Jem and Scout are right about Boo Radley being this scary person that they have always imagined him to be, this may be his way to lure them closer to the house, so he can capture them and kill or torture them. He may be doing this to lure them closer to the house, so he can set up a trap that can result in him getting payback for when Jem touched his house and possibly disrupted the quietness of it as after all, it was said that Jem and Scout saw a tiny movement from the house after they ran away. If not that, I have no other theories. My head right now is just stuck with the thought that Boo is a bad and scary man who is planning to lure Jem, Scout, and anybody else into his trap just to capture them and do something horrible to them. If not, what could these objects in the tree mean? Is this something Boo is doing to try and capture Jem, Scout, and anybody else to get revenge for when Jem touched his house? Hopefully we will find out soon...

School Has Ended
It is now Summertime for Scout and Jem which means that Dill will be coming over to spend the summer with them. Dill comes to stay with his aunt Miss Rachel in the summer because his mom wants a break from him, which is sad because his father doesn't want to spend time with him either. Dill is a small person but according to scout he grew over the summer. Dill was there to play two days after they got out of school. When Dill arrives and they play for the first time since last summer he says that he no longer wants to play the characters that no one else will play. Dill also claims that he can smell death, he's obviously joking. They also talk about "Hot Steams" which are apparently people who can't get to heaven and if you walk through one on earth, you won't be able to get to heaven either. (Dill doesn't believe them) Scout suggests that they roll the tire which she will soon learn that wasn't a very good decision. Jem was still offended by Scout because she contradicted him about the Hot Steams.
Scout gets into a crash because Jem pushed her very hard. Scout sees the colors whirl by and she feel her ears throb and she was suffocating. She turned out to be okay even though she felt a little nauseated. I liked this part of the chapter because it shows the sibling relationship that Jem and Scout have. It also shows in the next part where you can see that Jem instantly regrets this because he runs after her chasing and yelling, he was worried that she would get hurt. Meaning that even though they had the fun playful sibling relationship he also cares about her and watches out after her.
