To Kill a Mockingbird
In the beginning of chapter 6 we discover that Dill will be going back to Mississippi. Dill tells them to go on a walk but to Scout it sounds fishy because people in Maycomb don't go around asking for jobs. however, she accepted and so did Jem. Jem and Dill were planning to peak into the Radleys house even though Atticus was against it. they decided to go through a tall wire fence instead of going through the lot of the Radleys. They decided to go at night because no one would see them. They from no where saw a shadow, a man with a gun. Jem was really scared and crumbled up into a ball, the man was very close to him but he managed to escape. All of them headed to the school fence, but while Jem was going through the fence his pants got stuck and had to go on without them. While heading home they were met by all of the neighbors. Miss Stephanie was starting to gossip about the kids but atticus stopped them and asked Dill to give Jem some pants. However, Jem was too big and couldn't fit in Dills clothes but thanked him anyways. And Scout and Dill had a kiss before Dill had to leave.
This chapter was very interesting. Jem got his pants caught on the fence and had to go on without them. The story they created for it was very funny, Dill said he had won Jems pants and obviously Miss Stephanie was going to gossip about all of it. Atticus luckily stopped her before she had time to speak. Another interesting part was that Dill before leaving kissed Scout swiftly. Now I am wondering if they are going to end up together at the end of the chapter. Also, the solution they found when they saw the mans shadow was creative. They wanted to see Boo but almost ended up shot. I think Jem was the one that was scared the most. I mean he was a few inches away from the Man and could of easily been confused as a African-American. The real question are: Will Dill and Scout become a thing? Will Jem get his pants back? Will they be discovered?
