A Terrible Idea

In chapter six Dill had to go back to Mississippi the next day because summer was ending. Before Dill wanted to leave he wanted to check on the Radley's house. Scout didn't want to come along but she was under pressure and decided to come along. They went to the backyard and Jem lifted Dill up to check the window if there is anything. Dill didn't see anything and Jem went check the window if there is anything. Before anything can happen a gunshot went off, Mr. Radley did this out of defence because he doesn't know who is intruding. Everyone ran out but Jem got his pants stuck in the fence so he just left it there. In the middle of the late night Jem got scared that he will get caught by Atticus or get gossiped on so he went back and grabbed his pants.

I think what Jem, Scout, and Dill did was terrible because they could of gotten hurt. They basically intruded someone else's property without their permission. Atticus told them not to bother Boo anymore but they decided to take it to the next level and intrude his property. This was not a good idea because they could of gotten killed. To make matters even worse Jem went back in the middle of the night to get his pants back which was really risky because he had just intruded Boos property not long ago. If it were me I would rather take the blame than get myself hurt. Jem didn't want to get scolded by Atticus. I still dont think Boo is a bad person. He only shot his gun out of defence, if someone intruded your home I think you would be on guard too.
