Miss Maudie's character TKAM

In chapter 8 to recap it began snowing as a shock to everyone in Maycomb as it had not since 1885. They kids were excited to build a snowman which they did with the help of Miss Maudie's snow and sun hat. They made it look like Avery, but put the hat on so others would not suspect it was a caricature of him.  They later went to sleep then woke up at one a clock in the morning to find Miss Maudie's house on fire. They were instructed to watch from a distance and saw them get all the furniture out until the house collapsed, and they were freezing though when they went in they had a blanket over them which Atticus informed that Boo Radley put over them.

Miss Maudie
The only bright spot of this incident was how stable and strong Miss Maudie's character stood. The kids were being nice to her and offered to help her with anything, and she did not show a sign of unhappiness and still remained pleasant talking to the kids not letting her house being burnt affect her mood at all. She through out all the chapters we have read of her stayed true to her character and does not gossip and stays straightforward with people. Unlike most people we have met in Maycomb she seems to be besides Atticus the only one who knows how to talk to a kid. She does not hush them away or get annoyed at there constant questions. If any thing can prove just how loyal you are to your character it is this with Miss Maudie's house burning and she still treats and acts how she regularly would. This shows she has a pretty high moral standard in not transferring any of her oppression. Atticus and Miss Maudie seem to have highest moral standards of anyone in this book that we have met so far.

  1. Nice job with your blog Elianan!I like how you describe Miss maudie's character in the chapter Elianan and I agree that Miss Maudie character was strong. I agree that so far in that chapter Miss Maudie had the highest moral standard so far and I also agree that she did not show no happiness when her house burn down and when Scout and Jem came to talk to her she was not mad and she also said that she did not needed help.
